First of all, interviewers should check the resume thoroughly before the interview. It helps to understand the candidate's persona. Don't start bombarding with the questions at the beginning. Explain the role and culture and why the candidate has been short-listed. Start with the easy and comforting points. It helps candidates to open up and show his/her real persona.

To maximize employee engagement during the interview process and showcase our culture, I would ensure candidates interact with current employees, offering office tours and arranging meet-and-greets. Additionally, I'd incorporate storytelling sessions where we share anecdotes that highlight our values and successes. Displaying employee testimonials and culture videos further immerses candidates in our environment. Finally, I'd integrate culture-based questions to gauge alignment. These efforts not only engage candidates but also provide a clear understanding of our culture, fostering enthusiasm and connection from the initial stages of the interview process.

Culture fitness is an important success factor for any newcomer. I recommend any interviewer to focus on the candidate - company culture fit during the interview. This will happen by: * Explore the candidate's values and beliefs. * Inform candidates about company vision, mission, values, beliefs and management philosophy. * Answer his / her question about company work environment.

Interview is always a two-way process. It should be more of a discussion than a QA session. It is more important to let the candidate speak more. It is not a learning session for candidates nor an opportunity for the interviewers to show their great talent. Hence, even if the candidate is throwing wrong answers, it is important to give him/her the right direction and open up the mind. If a candidate can move towards the right direction, you still can consider his quick learning ability with minimum effort.

I found that considering an interview as an opportunity for both: 1- Find a new potential candidate with virtue and talent suitable for the vacant position. 2- Promote your company culture and work environment as part of employer branding. So, it is not only about you as an interviewer to take the lead all over the interview. You should give the candidate the opportunity to ask you, explore more and be confident that your company will be the next suitable station in his career journey.

Part of my candidate engagement throughout the interview process centers around continual feedback, both positive and constructive…what’s been going well, and where the hiring team may still have some question marks. This not only sets the candidate up for success, but also lets them know that the organization values development, which is a great way to showcase your culture.

It is very important at the end of the interview to inform the candidate about the next step and the way of communication that you will use to give him feedback about the interview. Even if you reject the candidate l, it is Preferred to give him feedback about the rejection reason, so he / she can develop his/ her capabilities. Selection of the right communication channels will depend on many factors like, no. Of candidates, available resources and your philosophy. You should consider this step as part of employer branding and company social responsibility.

An example I have seen before, when I made a demonstration on the job role during the interview. The surprise that the candidate informed me that he misunderstood the job role, and it is not suitable with his career plan I told him no problem and thanked him for his honesty and clarity. So, it is important to do this kind of demonstration during the beginning of interview to align interest and ensure expectations.

I may offer to the potential candidate to spend a half-day with a current team member and arrange to make it an informal lunch gathering where the candidate can interact with potential future colleagues as well making the employees engage with the hiring process
