One of the best way to learn language/framework is reading code that others have written, for example read an open source project written in your language/framework of interest.

Learn unit tests early on. They aid refactoring and stability massively. Try to create clean code - look at SOLID concepts. To me the most important outcome is code that can easily be built on and extended. Not always polished to a mirror shine because of diminishing returns, but there's a balance. Code should get easier to work on as the codename grows, not harder. I wish I'd learnt that from day one.

Search for best practice. Do not rush to create code immediately, and think twice about code structure. If you have a mentor, discuss your solution with him. Write code accurately, do not let blocks as "TODO" or "fix later" - you will never have time to change it. Test it, do not believe that it would work. Do not believe data inside your code, if some variable can be nullable - it would be null, you should check it, it will save your time on testing phase.
