Risk is always understated in ALL ventures I have seen so far(Have seen 3000 pitches over last 8 years). Lack of understanding of risk is one of the major reasons for business failure but mostly never mentioned in business literature as a major reason for failure of startups.

One thing which has been missed out by the AI in this article is the plethora of schemes both from Central and State Government that are available to food/agribusinesses which could reduce cost of the project by anything going upto 50%. Smart lawyers and consultants are needed to ensure maximum benefits are availed by entrepreneurs in these projects. These benefits would make the difference on returns and long term viability too.

In India, land is the biggest challenge for agribusinesses. You need to lawyer up well and have at least 2 lawyers check out the titles etc if you are buying agricultural land given the fragmentation of land holding and the number of legal claimants to parcels of land of the size needed by agribusinesses.

Weather patterns are challenging to correct and often require significant investments.
