2 Choose a specialization

Start small. ICT is a very large domain. The same goes for ICT Security. This encompasses many domains, many different technologies, very different jobs. Start by reading general articles on information security. This will help you understand the vocabulary, the concepts and will guide you to some domains that will be of interest for you. Don't start with the idea you will discover, learn and master the full spectrum of ICT Security. With the time, you will broaden your knowledge and will also have a better idea of what you are interested in and where you can bring added value.

4 Build your network

Networking is an important aspect of any career, especially in information security. You can build your network by joining online communities, forums, social media groups, and blogs that are related to information security. You can also attend offline events, such as conferences, meetups, workshops, and seminars.
