Getting the right camera angle(S) and lighting finishes the picture. It could be as simple as moving a garbage can to offset a chair. We always look through the viewfinder too. It helps to have a DP who can comment and add perfect contrast and brightness / darkness or shadows needed for that creative final " money"shot. Lastly, do three or four takes if time permits to give the actors and directors their options to get it right. This is easier on film however due to bigger budgets.
