I think what could really show expertise is primarily learning how to ask questions. So understanding bias and leading-type inclinations we all have when asking users questions about a product, and diverting away from those inclinations to more constructive and useful questions. Obivous one here is avoiding asking users "if they think X would be useful" and trying to dig deeper about any specific scenarios users could envisage a feature working for them.

The best thing to demonstrate this is always link your insights to a user quote or experience, e.g., we need to change the color and position of this CTA as we can most users cannot find it, "Oh that's where the button is, I would not have found that unless you told me!" This contextualizes and humanizes any insights offered to stakeholders making it feel more impactful.
