In all of my content marketing job descriptions, I used to put in this line: "send us examples of your writing - we'll look at those before your resume." The reason is that your resume won't show your content writing and marketing capabilities, especially as an entry level intern. Things that I would look for: → Do they have their own blog? → Is it updated or was the last post a year ago? → Do they have examples of content that's close to what I need written? → Is there evidence that they are constantly learning (since content marketing is a fast-evolving field)? The best candidates show (examples) more than tell (resume).
