Totally agree with this statement... There is not much more to add... I believe it's not just film making but most creative fields...

This approach encourages you to delve deeper into the motivations and intentions behind a director’s work, allowing you to develop a more profound and personal creative vision.

One of the best methods would be finding yourself and what you inspired to. It helps to create your own craft as a director. Expand Watch films of all genres and try to meet different type of people. Then experiment and try to create something. Trust the process.

I completely agree. After the deep dive and comprehension of why certain masters made certain decisions, we understand what we need to make our own decisions.

I think it's imperative for any aspiring director to network with established and highly acclaimed Directors, sometimes creativity or success can be contagious, if you spend more time in those professional circles.

I believe that diversity is equally as important as focus. Once we understand which flavor we want, we can take a deep dive to make it the best version of that flavor until we are ready to move onto the next flavor. I think the same can be said about the phases in an artist’s life.

Yes, practice is best. Although film being a collaborative endeavor, I believe it is great to practice and then specialize in one or few things, leaving the rest to collaborators. Amazing things happen when we find the right people and trust them to do great things. I believe it’s the only way to allow our collaborators to surprise us in a positive manner. Trust.

Collaborate... Collaborate... Collaborate... Nothing gets done without other professionals in your field... Wise words to say the least...

Agreed ! I’ve realized that the people with the right amount of experience learning while doing a job sometimes are the most prepared to tackle other jobs, whether on set, before or after. It may take a while to find our niche, but all experience seems to be good experience if you’re learning more about your craft. If you’ve stopped learning, it may be time for a shift.

When we tell a story through personal experience, that really brings out the authentic storyline and most of it will resonate well with others. This tells everything in a film, post or story. When people feel it, others will share their thoughts and perspective too.

Again this says it all... If your not up to the technological advancements in your industry then how are you going to share your work or even collaborate with other professionals if your working with equipment or software that is irreverent...

Embrace technology. It’s not going anywhere. Even if you’re holding onto classical elements or formats, such as shooting on film, the right technology can allow for greater precision and progress, landing us where we want to be. At the end of the day, you can choose which technology to leave behind once you have mastered a skill.

One thing that excites me more than making money, these days is discovering new insights from great movies that I consume daily. I also try to indulge myself in other art forms for insights and to broaden my scope as a storyteller. With constant experimentation of these insights in my own works, I know that the sky is the beginning. I advise that you should too.

Collaboration. Always collaborate with the gurus filmmakers in their top flight budgets, volunteer to their production house and see what it takes what is it done. Be open to receive more from the gurus is the key.
