While at the event ensure to exchange electronic calendar invites for the time of reconnecting post-event to discuss the next steps (accountability) and eat meals with a few different people each time to expand the possibilities of collaboration, increasing the circle of folks to stretch you, and the more people you meet the more people you can connect others to. Do your own work first. If you have not put in the time, dedication and effort to work on your own insides, your future clients will sniff that out in a minute. And don't stop doing your work - we are never done growing. This sounds so basic, but I see new coaches get this wrong a lot: coaching is not about what you know as much as it is about being a curious and great question asker that allows your client to unfold their own learning journey. If you want to advise people, become a consultant. You can do both but your role is what changes in each situation.
