What do you do if you want to climb the ladder in business administration from a junior to a senior role?

In my opinion ensure that you always upgrade your skill sets for the future and remain focused. The key to grow up the ladder is hard work and focus.

What I did early in my career was: 1. Did the role I was employed to do as well as I possibly could, and made sure it was noticed. 2. Had a clear idea, and a relentless focus on where I wanted to go in the organisation/my career. 3. Started doing some of the higher level work that I wanted to be doing, without asking for permission, or seeking immediate reward. I just started doing it. In this way I built credibility within the organisation and progressed within a relatively short time (5 years) from administrative assistant to department head. My only word of advice is that if the organisation isn’t recognizing your efforts - move on!
