La mejor formar de mejorar tu innovación y creatividad como ejecutivo es aprender a escuchar + a tu equipo. Dedica tiempo a entablar conversaciones con tu equipo y dales un espacio de seguridad y confianza para que tu equipo se abra y te cuente sus pensamientos. Yo personalmente todos los sábados invitaba a desayunar a personas de diferentes departamentos y tras la excusa de un café, aprovechaba sus ideas y sugerencias. Una simple pregunta: ?Si estuvieras en mi silla que harías? Tomaba nota de las ideas y después priorizaba según coste e impacto. Una vez la idea se ejecutaba y acababa siendo un éxito, de forma privada y pública agradecía a la persona en cuestión su contribución a la empresa. El potencial está, pero hay que saber verlo.

Ser una persona curiosa implica querer conocer y formarse en temas que resuenen en cada uno, con lo que implica de actualización de conocimientos en nuevas áreas. Esta apertura mental, de no quedarse solo en lo que ya se sabe o en lo que se ha aprendido, lleva a la innovación sin lugar a dudas.

I find getting stuck inside my head can really hinder my creativity. Sometimes I experience “art block” basically my art gets stiff and dry. Sometimes becoming art paralysis leaving me empty. Art block happens to everyone, the innovation and creativity process halts. Creativity must be nurtured and tended. It doesn’t come from an empty bucket. One of my favorite ways to get out is visiting art museums in person. Try it out, have a -work “visit the museum day”- and watch as your employees ingenuity, drive, and joy increase in the days after. Artwork fills the soul and leaves the viewer with new ways of thinking. There are many ways to bring this experience to a workplace. Let me know if you would love more ideas.

Poner en cuarentena, o desafiar, las propias creencias a través de la formación es una manera de innovar y desarrollar la propia creatividad. En este sentido, no se trata solo de formarse sino de poner en práctica lo aprendido para desarrollar posibles soluciones innovadoras en la empresa.

No solamente se llega a la innovación a través de la formación, sino que a veces el mero hecho de no hacer nada estimula los resortes de nuestra creatividad y surgen soluciones innovadoras. La mente también necesita descanso y disfrutando de ellos, como un rayo de luz, también surgen las buenas ideas.
