What do you do if you want to advance your writing career through delegation?

When you first start out, keep it simple. And that's our first clue for building a team. Delegate your simplest tasks first. For example, you could get your new team member to upload files for you. Or, to take down your notes as you speak (that's my favourite!). You could get them to research products you wish to buy for your business. Don't rush into it. It's not easy to find the right people. So take your time so that you can attract the best talent for your writing business.

Identify tasks that can be delegated such as administrative or repetitive tasks, hire reliable freelancers or assistants, provide clear instructions and expectations, establish effective communication channels, and regularly review progress to ensure quality and efficiency.

Even an extra 2 - 4 hours every week can change your life. In my experience, it's worth having a team. Don't see it as a mere expense. See it as a resource to access a more comfortable lifestyle. However, there's a caveat. There is some stress that comes with having a team. But, in the long run, you can only grow so far on your own. As soon as it's feasible, allow yourself to build a team to helps you create a better life.

The most difficult task that I've ever outsourced is writing. It's very difficult for someone out there to grasp your writing tone. It's a true challenge. The solution is simple, though – Time. Give it time and practice, and you'll both be coherent in tone.

When you come back to your list, circle the things that bother you the most. Those are the tasks you will delegate first. Then, go on a freelancing website. Put out a post requesting proposals for those tasks. You will receive many applications and you'll choose your top ones. You will work in two stages. The first stage is an interview. You will talk to potential team members to see if they are a good fit for you. In the second stage, hire the best prospects for a sample task. Ideally, it should be something that can be done in a couple of hours. Finally, choose the best applicant!
