What do you do if team members are not meeting your communication expectations?

If your team is not communicating as per your expectations may be you need to start with yourself. Communicate more to encourage people to speak up. Sometimes we need to be clear and set our expectations clearly. I find out that keeping it very straight forward sometimes solve things smoothly. For example; i might clearly mention to a team member i expect from you to 1,2,3.. in a very direct method.

First thing is to do the gap analysis between your communication plan or strategy and current situation. Identify what is missing and why it is missing. Also verify if it is few team members or a majority showing those gaps. Once the full analysis is done then place action plans to fill those gaps. Frequently review those actions for effectiveness,

We need to find out what and where we are doing wrong. We need to look for gaps and think about how to close them. We have to analyze our communication plan and check if my team members are using the right words in their messages. If they are not polite enough, we should plan a training session that will emphasize the points that need improvement.
