There is a simple principle: you must as an architect produce architecture, and the clients must let you do it - the confidence, and the respect from the both sides is the most important issue. To incorporate the tecnical knowlege in your architecture - that ist the part of the job of the architects. We allways use the actual knowledge to create the buildings. But on the very end it must be running, and in the same time a peace of architecture - allways both of them. So, "no architects" can′t do this. Even if they are famous, or developers, or have money ;-)

No solo te quedes atrás de la compu haciebdo modelos sino que entiende el proceso constructivo, conoce cómo se mejora, cuáles son los problemas comunes, entiende la naturaleza, participa en foros de biofilia.
