In my experience, the way of coding has changed now, the way it was done five years back, now it is done very differently but fundamental is always same. Let me insight that now you do not need to write library from scratch, it is available online, so now adoption of new tech tools is not very though if you have fundamental clear.

As an AI Scientist in the NLP field, the rise in use of Generative AI prompted me to learn about GAI. I became very interested in advancing my traditional developments in Conversational AI. Much of the work I did for 2 decades on Conversational AI was rulebased. A dialog was modeled as a decision tree. This involved prompting the user with a question and the customer's answer would cause a decision to be taken with the commensurate state transition. This rule based frame work didn't really accomplish the goa of Conversation. I knew GAI would allow the field to advance in Conversational AI. So I worked on two projects, one project automated therapy and the other is a Brain Computer Interface. Working on these advanced my skills.

Specializing strategically in niche areas where human expertise complements AI's capabilities is pivotal amidst automation trends. Another way to go is to find one specific problem within your niche and try to learn how to solve it better using an AI tool. There is hundreds of ways to solve each problem, if you can refine a foolproof system for solving that specific problem with an AI tool. Wether its a set of prompts or a mapped out sequence of steps that anyone can follow and get the same results from.

By focusing on integrating AI with business strategies to fill the gaps where AI falls short, I have developed a unique expertise in leveraging AI for higher-level decision-making processes. This strategic approach has allowed me to stand out in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

As an AI Scientist, I was trained in graduate school in interdisciplinary studies. Music, Electronic circuits, DSP, AI, Cognitive Science, Neurolinguistics and phonology. I found studying different faculties gave me a mindset which could adapt. During the course of my career, when I saw a new opportunity, I took it and mastered the content and contributed culminating in the startup I now lead. For me, I am working interdisciplnary every day as I get involved in discussions ranging from coding techniques to My ML to DSP and to UX/UI as we build our MVP. Flexibility is key as is mastery of the skills. It is true at different parts of my career I was skills focussed rather than job focussed. I have enjoyed stepping into another new role

I think In general AI shouldn’t be seen as competition for jobs, rather a tool which lessens the workload on the individual and increases efficiency and innovation if used correctly, a quote I like to use to remind me of this is the fundamental Theorem of informatics which states that “a person working in partnership with an information resource is “better” than that same person unassisted.” In the same regard someone can say the same for AI “a person working with AI is “better” than the same person unassisted” and as such I feel like there is the need for people who feel like they are being “outpaced” by AI to see if they can use that to their advantage in their field.

The more flexible you are, the more levels you can beat. Stay curious and be willing to try new roles or learn new skills. Adaptability is both reacting to change and anticipating it. Try to spot trends in your industry and start preparing for them before they become mainstream. This proactive approach can put you ahead and make you invaluable to employers.
