The most important factor to consider is not getting influenced by peers. You have your own goals and vision. It's definitely possible that you feel you might not be having the right guidance for career growth. But if possible, it is best to join online communities with people working on similar topics as you and who are already in the scientific industry for quite some time. If your goal is to have guidance from a specific person and you are not able to get that, it is completely fine. Keep your goals intact but look for alternatives using onliine resources.
