Look at your resume and find what career moves do not make too much sense, blanks in your career progression, too much or too little line in a position or a company, etc. In short, find your weak points and build a list of difficult questions and smart answers. Practice until you feel confortable with the answering the toughest question that you can imagine, and perhaps never happens, but who gets ready for the worst it is super ready for the good.

I, myself am a job seeker in the same HR field, what I have learnt from my rejections is that sometimes it's not just the skill set or qualification or experience that a candidate lacks. It could also be the position was meant to be handled by the opposite gender. Everyone was once a candidate, we all might have gone through various rejections and if a recruiter says that you are not a good fit for this role, I really hope that we all will try to improve whatever that is lacking. This rings true when preparing for one of the most important decision, AKA getting a interview with a company. Make sure you understand the environment you are going into, looking a reviews, understand the financial standing of the company and who the leaders are. Getting a feel of these things will show you are really prepared to jump into the culture. Good Luck!

Totally agree that proper research will improve the interview performance, but in line with my previous comment, I would also recommend to prepare the interview with good examples that illustrate your know-how on how to successfully deal with the company business challenges / objectives, what learnings did you get from X or Y situation, what did not work well and what make a difference... Preparation is the key of the success in an interview process.

Dive deep into the organization you're applying to, understanding its unique qualities and what sets it apart. Prepare answers for common questions like strengths, weaknesses, reasons for switching, aspirations, achievements, failures, and learnings. Stay updated on industry trends, competitors, challenges, and innovations relevant to the company and its sector. 4. Check out the company's LinkedIn page to see updates and the company structure. Review profiles of key executives and employees to understand their backgrounds and roles within the company. 5. Be prepared with few thoughtful questions based on your research.

I feel researching is extremely important. One has got to know,where was he/she caught on the wrong foot. Obviously, till one doesn't know his/her mistake,he/she is bound to repeat the mistake. Secondly,apart from researching the company, the Atmosphere there,the challenges the company is facing,it is equally important to research the nature & attitude of the interviewer so as to pacify him/ her,i.e. provided if one knows about the interviewer before hand.

DO NOT PRACTISE your answers!!! OMG! A highly experienced recruiter like me will never ask you an interview questions that you can practise. We want to know you as you and not an engineered “you” called practise. If it’s the real qualities that you possess for the last 30 years, you have already been “practising” it for 30 years, so there is no need to practise any more. It won’t change much! Be yourself and be real and authentic. That’s the best way to win any recruiter. If they can’t tell you are being real, then there are a lot of fake people in their organisations anyway. You don’t want to work with fake folks.

Like mentioned before, remember the 4 P's. More importantly PREPERATION. If you are able to practice interviewing I would say take a few (not a lot if your not serious about making a move). But, this way you can still understand what relevant questions are being asked. Another way to practice is looking at relevant skills & responsibilities on job postings. Can you perform those duties? How would you show them in a quantifiable way (metrics)? These are all ways you can practice.

Confidence is crucial because you need to be the best you are. It is essential to understand what you bring to the table as a candidate and be able to explain why the company should hire you. It is not about having rehearsed answers; it is being able to thoughtfully answer the questions and use good stories and what the interviewer needs to discover more.. It is also important to look at how you talk for example, some people speak fast when they get nervous, and that makes it hard for the interviewer to follow the story.

I would like you to please use your connections to find out as much as possible about the company, the position, and the leadership. You must ensure you use your network and connections and get as many connections as possible. This can include using other people to find connections at the company you are interviewing with. You always want to make sure that, as an employee, you have a board of advisors and see which type of people you need. That circle of influence is essential when networking and seeing who they can introduce you to and how they see you.

Maintaining a positive and "can do" attitude it is crucial, but do not overplay it, you don't want to be seen as a naive candidate, be positive but realistic and analytical, demonstrate that you are knowledgeable about the topic of discussion, the pros and the cons, the risk and the benefits, the low hanging fruits and the impossible challenges. Balance is a virtue.
