What do you do if emotional intelligence is clouding your HR decision-making?
Emotional intelligence (EI) is a valuable asset in human resources (HR), but it can sometimes lead to biased decision-making. EI refers to the ability to understand and manage your own emotions, as well as recognize and influence the feelings of others. In HR, a high level of EI can help you navigate complex interpersonal dynamics; however, it may also cause you to rely too much on your feelings rather than data or policies. If you suspect that your emotional intelligence is overshadowing objective judgment in HR decisions, it's essential to recalibrate your approach.
