Dealing with the breach post-factum is distressing and time-consuming. We should focus more on preventing the breaches. Unfortunately, most BI environments can not be properly monitored and managed with in-built capabilities. Look for third-party tools or build a solution of your own to implement daily controls over user behaviour and their compliance with data security and privacy policies.

Work closely with IT security experts to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the extent of the breach, identify the root cause, and assess the potential impact on affected individuals and the organization.

2 Contain and isolate the breach

The next step is to stop the unauthorized access and prevent further data leakage.
