Take notes of the keywords in the question. Read them again whilst you prepare your answer. Take a pause and apply the knowledge you have to answer the question with your experience and your opinion. Never be scared to share an unpopular opinion if it fits the answer with the thought expected from the interviewer. It is your moment to shine bright or let loose of the opportunity. Try your best but not too hard.

Another great tip to try when caught off guard by an interview question is to take some time to think! It is okay to asking the interviewer if you can have a few moments to think or to ask them to repeat the question. As an interviewer, we would much rather you take the time to create a thoughtful answer than to try and respond immediately and gather your thoughts as you go.
