One thing I have found helpful is to reflect on experiences where critical thinking was not applied and then review the experience with critical thinking skills. One experience happened to me as a student nurse with a diabetic patient. The patient was okay but I learned a crucial lesson and changed my thinking with the help of more seasoned nurses.

An example of collaboration I’ve seen in my career was in an ambulatory care setting. The nurses, doctors and unlicensed staff worked quickly on a patient that had a reaction to a medication. Quick responses and critical thinking saved the patient and left a profound impact with me on how we need to work together at our highest abilities and positive outcomes will follow.
