What do you do if the continuing education program in education doesn't align with your career goals?

J'ai notamment constaté qu’il est opportun de redéfinir les objectifs et les ajuster pour repondre aux différentes aspirations. Par ailleurs, il est utile de prioriser les activités requises à la réalisation des objectifs prédéfinis. Ainsi, le programme de formation continue sera ludique par ses activités d’apprentissage priorisées et de qualité.

Evaluate your career goals and look for an area with in your chosen field that will align with those goals for example you would like to help students decide on plans after highschool. Look at guidance counselor concentration for your education degree. There is always a match to your goals you just need to delve deeper and do some research.

I feel like the 'portfolio' career is having a resurgence. so instead of looking at another programme or certification, maybe consider what skill sets and services you might want to offer. for example, if a leadership in education programme is too administrative for you, and you see yourself focusing on innovation in educational management, look for an opportunity to consult various smaller/newer educational institutions or use your current programme to ask tutors for their network on innovators in the field to reach out to, and possibly work with.

Challenge your focus and evolve with the needed changes that curriculum can bring, even if it doesn't align with your considered goals.

If the continuing education program in education doesn't align with your career goals, networking actively is greatly affordable via ways: 1-Connection with peers via LinkedIn and similar professional platforms to ask for their recommendations and advice 2-Establishing strong relationships with experienced instructors in the area who have good bounds with the market and practical insights on the field 3-Attending online or physical conferences and webinars as T4 Education and Wonder workshops where vital experiences are shared and highlighted 4-Reaching out the university career services as various local and international universities offer connections with the market, job fairs, and opportunities for students and alumni; AUB is an example.

Having someone who cares about you and gives you their real feedback is helpful. I was really excited about an opportunity and thinking about all the reasons I wanted them, a colleague made me pause and she asked why would they want you. After reflection, I was not what they were looking for based on my current experience. It was hard to hear, but knowing where I needed to grow in order to believe in myself to be competitive in the right areas was powerful and helpful feedback.

Flexibility is the key to learning effectively. We all have to learn to pivot, consider changes, or adapt as needed. Being flexible not only means I have to be flexible, but that content creators and content should “flex” to accommodate the needs to the learner. Stagnation is a killer in learning and growing. I like to always use the philosophy of a Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle. This assists in having the attitude of always looking for improvements in learning, work, and communication. PDCA cycles keeps us honest and looking for processes that are working well and processes that need to be improved or revamped. Flexibility is the core of the PDCA cycle.
