Right now I want to continue studying, but studies are not the only thing that is necessary if you want to achieve something big then leadership skills are very important nowadays. This is the reason why some people move ahead while others stay behind. Some people focus only on studies and some people think more ahead than studies and one should always keep trusting oneself and keep motivating oneself.

If anything, if you are contracting, you should be thinking of how your role can provide MORE value than if you were a perm. A perm is part of the organisational machine and can move from role to role. But as a contractor you are there because your experience and expertise makes you ideal for that one role. This is true for both leadership roles or not - you can really project your strengths onto the role to contribute successful outcomes. If you master your domain then opportunities to step into contract leadership roles will materialise.

Why is it that we perceive contract work as not “leadership”? It may not be corporate leadership, but in many ways it has greater potential for leadership than a corporate roles offer. As a contract worker you will have to develop your own brand, your own services portfolio, your own client base, plus a network of other contractors with whom you can work to offer more complex services. It requires far more self discipline and motivation than many corporate roles. I would argue that, depending on where you find yourself in your career, the above can offer far greater potential for developing as a leader than a corporate role. So my advice?
