KNNs are indeed very costly and sensitive to outliers. Also they just won't work in difficult problems, classes that are not really clusters. Also they perform very poorly in real-life problems where you often have an "unknown" or "garbage" class.

KNN algorithm does not create a generalized separable model. There are no summary equations or trees that can be produced by the training process that can be quickly applied to new records. Instead, KNN simply uses the training data itself to perform predictions.

Computational Cost KNN can be computationally expensive, especially with large datasets, as it needs to calculate distances for each data point. Sensitivity to Outliers KNN is sensitive to outliers since it relies on distances. Outliers can disproportionately influence the classification or regression result. Además, siempre es necesario tener presente el "margen blando" donde entran los outliers, para obtener la mayor accuracy. KNN es más fácil de implementar porque sólo estamos teniendo en cuenta "clústers" de datos, pero puede dar otros problemas, como ser demasiado sensible al ruido si K es peque?o, o incluir puntos de otras clases si K es muy grande.
