Product design needs the Architects in this case UX Designers to craft the experience, feel and determine through research, tests and iterations the best use case of a product, digital or physical. To put it plainly, in my opinion, a UX designer is responsible for creating a solution to your problems, and showing how that solution solves said problems, while a UI designer creates the visuals for what that solution looks like and functions. I’m paraphrasing but they can intertwine at times too!
