In some sectors, certain variables cannot be used due to their potential contribution to bias in pricing models. There are libraries like fairness360 that enable the weighting of variables to mitigate potential biases.

Some food for thought. How do you un-train bias in an algorithm or prevent an algorithm from developing a negative bias based on data? I will use an analogy. Consider a child that has learned to say "No". It is very difficult to change that behavior once it is learned. First someone has to recognize the bad behavior, then figure out how to correct it. If an A.I. learns strictly on data, that data can often be skewed and ultimately led to a bias. History is a great example. Who exactly discovered America? How do you impart morals and ethics into the decision making? Should someone be able to train A.I. to create a malicious virus (computer or biological)? Circumvent security systems? A.I. can learn just as much bad as it does good.

I think a great application of A.I. would be to train an A.I. to recognize bias. Every company can't be expected to employ enough diversity or do the due diligence needed to be unbiased. Such an A.I. would be a great tool to help level set the expectations and provide some level of assuredness.
