In my experience, it is always a meaningful interaction between myself and a customer if I can connect with them and even the smallest way. That could be hearing about their dinner plans, their dog’s name, or just things that they did today. If we treat every interaction with a customer as if we’re the only one they spoke to that day, we speak with more compassion and do things more intentionally. Not every conversation has to be transactional - that’s the biggest takeaway.

One thing I have found helpful is lead by setting an example . My partner and I have put customer service above all else in the organisation. Everyone in the team just knows that the response and resolve time to any customer’s problem has to be really quick ( within 6-24 hours of the problem ) . When team sees us acting fast they are learning the same in their behaviour and it has now become a second nature for our team . Customer Care and Satisfaction come above all else . To cultivate this we also have training sessions on effective communications and have internal workshops to explain and foster service mindset in every aspect of one’s lives .
