The bottom line is to be conscious of the audience, simplify the information you want to pass. Where these jargon, acronyms, metaphors are used, explanantions should immediately be provided. Without such explanations and attention to such, it can be assumed that it was a failed communication.

My perspective is just to keep the communications simple and clear. No ambiguity. Then provide opportunity or grounds to share explanations and clarifications. However, for effective communications, you need to first understand the make up of the audience, how to manage your unconscious biases and one of the ways is to be open and honest with yourself and admit mistakes when it happens.
