To overcome this challenge, it is important to follow a systematic and documented approach, such as the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle, and to communicate clearly and effectively with all parties involved.

2 Data collection and analysis

Another challenge of conducting quality audits and assessments is to collect and analyze the data that will support the evaluation and improvement of the process, system, or product. This involves selecting the appropriate data sources, such as documents, records, observations, interviews, surveys, tests, and measurements, as well as ensuring the accuracy, completeness, relevance, and timeliness of the data. Data collection and analysis also require applying the suitable data analysis techniques, such as statistical methods, root cause analysis, benchmarking, and risk assessment, as well as interpreting and presenting the data in a meaningful and understandable way. A third challenge of conducting quality audits and assessments is to manage and implement the changes and improvements that result from the audit or assessment findings and recommendations. This involves prioritizing and planning the actions that will address the gaps, issues, and opportunities for improvement identified by the audit or assessment, as well as monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness and impact of the actions. Change management and improvement also require engaging and motivating the people who will be affected by or responsible for the changes and improvements, such as managers, employees, customers, and suppliers, as well as ensuring their participation, feedback, and support. To overcome this challenge, it is important to use a structured and collaborative approach, such as the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound) framework, and to use tools and techniques, such as training, coaching, incentives, and recognition, to facilitate change management and improvement.

In my experience organisations do only what is being inspected/ verified.. They shall focus on the improvement scenario and challenge the status quo of every processes.

All the mentioned facts are true and really tough while conducting a precise Quality Audits . I believe that we can not stop here sometimes audits are incomplete without interpretations. Non Conformances found are rectified and issues are considered resolved. But this refers to Corrective actions i.e. Quality control. We most of the times forget to develop the process by RCA or PDCA regarding the Non conformaties to avoid future occurrences and this is where crust of whole Quality Audit lies (some may disagree).
