We are progressive breed but electrical protection scheme testing bring back my old school of thought process. Always prefer to have injection testing during commissioning process, whereas individual testing of components of protective relay scheme is also required. The best way is to perform testing by observing how equipment under test interacts with all components of electrical protective system that means full coordination study with all the interconnected component (e.g. instrument transformer tests, relay tests, wiring checks, trip checks, and end-to-end tests). Finally, Through-Fault Testing is very important step in the commissioning process of any equipment; else cause investigation which are exhaustive and frustrating. MAK
