Statistical tools are - tools. That is, if your main field of work is not statistic as such. You can go a number of years doing what you know, modernizing tools and be fine and professional and never make a mistake. A few years ago, I had a 'rude awakening' - someone start claiming things that were plainly wrong. Statistic implemented was wrong in nature, so were some results. But they claimed them right, even requested methods to be changed in accordance. Long story short, I had to seek help to prove that wrong. But I couldn't do it alone, not any more.
