Define what the failure is by looking at the problem statement you started with. Are there multiple components in the problem statement/initial question? If so, find out how many of those you satisfied. Now you know you have had indeed a 'partial success'. Now it's time to improve the 'partial' solution you arrived at in the first iteration. Iterate!

Its important to reflect back from the failure and start retrospecting for what wrong. Start breaking down the problem and try to fix the things in modular approach and use this as learning curve because debugging and troubleshooting are part of computer science, which needs to be embraced and grow with it as everytime you get to learn new things while fixing the issues.

Once we know what went wrong, we need to take concrete steps to address those issues. It might mean redefining our project's scope, improving how we manage tasks, or fixing any technical glitches.

The next step in my opinion, is to then restrategize and replan your project. After doing an appraisal of your initial approach I will assume you've seen why that approach failed the first time, then you can use what you've learnt from the initial approach to create another plan. This step is very crucial as you don't want to delve right in again without a solid plan.

We should always write down what happened, including what worked and what didn't. This documentation will be like a guide for us in the future and help avoid similar mistakes.

You can celebrate before you even "recover" from the failure if you recognize that every "failure" is a learning opportunity. There's no need to go redo the entire project to get the "win" to celebrate. Uncover the learning opportunities and celebrate that there WAS learning.

If you've fixed your code several times and it still doesn't work, think of Edison, who we know today as one of the greatest inventors of all time. Thomas Edison made 10,000 failed attempts before he invented the light bulb. Some of us are ready to give up after the first failure. But it's those who don't give up who become successful. I frequently use this for speculative features - things I don't know will work - commit right before you start developing the feature so you can just "undo" the whole thing if you realize its a failed experiment.
