In today's job market, alignment between personal and company values isn't just nice to have; it's essential for long-term success. I believe coherent communication around a company's mission and values is crucial because it helps attract individuals who share the same values and vision. This alignment is more critical than ever for retaining committed team members. When I know that the team's personal values are in sync with the organization's mission, we are cultivating genuinely committed members contributing to a shared goal. This mutual alignment fosters a sense of belonging and purpose, elements that are key for both individual satisfaction and collective productivity.

I totally agreed to transparancy and open communication to the team or core members. they're build up the Trust level of connection , and not about being manipulation one another. that is equally to listen what other 's ideas input and also value the the ideas if there is realign the goal setting from the vision and mission . The leadership of development is the art of empowering or impacting others to be a leader too. Hence to share the expectation and the standard from the Core value is vital for the whole team or association.

For example, if the leader's values revolve around making as much money as possible, there is nothing wrong with that if the followers also are aligned with that vision. If the leader's values are based on improving people's lives, it's also important that followers feel the same way. Communication here is key!

Disruptive pattern material designed to blend in. The team looks the same, yet the individuals want to be different. An effective leader will balance the needs of the team, the task and the individual.

It's absolutely vital that your staff can confidently answer yes to the question 'if I am about to make a mistake, will you tell me?' (thanks, Edgar Schein ;) ). When your staff no longer feel like they can challenge you, then you are no longer able to make the best decisions for the business. You can ensure this is true by showing that when challenged, you remain calm and graceful and even if feedback stings you thank them for it. You can support people in learning how to give feedback in a way that is respectful, too - it's never okay for folks to be toxic, that's too far in the other direction. Showing we can admit mistakes, we are not omniscient and can be challenged safely is so powerful and sets the tone for the rest of the team.

Encouraging feedback and dialogue is easier said than done and is not a one-off exercise. Please understand the cultural backgrounds of your team members and how they give feedback. You also need to understand their motivations. Then, you can tailor your communication to your team members and encourage them with the right words and forms of communication to give feedback.

Mistakes, failures, limitations, and much more can sound negative to some. For me, it shows that we’re human. Learning to accept, and in ways, appreciate mistakes/failures will only help you be self-aware on mitigating repeat errors and areas of improvement. Showing that human error will show them that it’s ok, and they can learn and grow just as you have.

Instead of presenting yourself as an invincible superhero effortlessly scaling the peak, be the wise guide who shares their struggles and vulnerabilities along the way. When you admit your mistakes and limitations, you invite your team to join you on this journey. Just like a seasoned mountaineer who openly discusses the challenges they've faced on the ascent, leaders who dare mention their vulnerabilities enjoy the strongest support from team members. This authenticity fosters trust, encourages open dialogue, and creates a more resilient and collaborative team. Superficial 'superhero' narratives, where leaders never acknowledge their shortcomings, isolate the team and hinder growth.

As an introverted mid- level leader, I have found that maximizing technology and using several modes of communication increase trust and build comrady amongst the team. My role includes effectively informing the hospital of regulatory compliance and opportunities for professional and personal growth. I believe that it is not enough for great leaders to communicate. We must connect! This process includes more than sending and receiving messages! It's is about effective dialogue and appropriate feedback.

You can also have an informal space where your team members can comment and give their points of view.

By establishing clear and accessible communication channels such as regular team meetings, digital platforms, and suggestion boxes, dialogue can be facilitated. Moreover, employees' feedback and concerns should be actively listened to and responded to when possible. Even the most reserved employees feel comfortable sharing their insights when they are encouraged to provide respectful and constructive feedback. Developing a culture of transparency and open communication requires a combination of structural, interpersonal, and cultural strategies.

On the flip side of this, it is imperative to correct in private. Many employees shy away from open communication out of fear and uncertainty due to lack of trust. If they trust the receiver of that communication they are much more likely to share openly. When correction is needed, make sure to do it in a safe environment. You may even be able to gain trust while correcting if handled in an appropriate way.

At times, team members and stakeholders aren’t always aware of their accomplishments, or the impact they’re making in their organization. Celebrating successes and contributions, let’s them know they are making a difference and is potentially becoming a champion for change. Additionally, you have to fully understand what motivates your team members, so you know how to formally recognize them in a way that means the most to them.

Recognize the team in various platforms - social media and internal distribution channels. Spotlight the team's effort to the Senior Leadership Team regularly and transparently - it will help the team resonate and align with the business goals more than before.

A leader could make it happen by building the culture of psychological safety, where anyone could express their views and opinions without any fear. One of the good ways to do that is to appreciate and acknowledge innovative collaboration, and total ownership & accountability. All this could be made possible by making stakeholders partners in progress which makes them become more responsible for the outcome of the effort.

When employees see that their leaders value and practice transparency, they are more likely to follow suit, creating a culture of open communication that benefits the entire organization.

Balance between having pull and push communication and engagement mechanisms. For example having office hours (as a pull) and an email communication (as a push). This will improve your the chance that you connect with every individual regardless of their communication preference. It can also help team members become more comfortable coming to speak to you.
