Most of the repo have "Good First Bug" or something like that try to start contributing by fixing these cause these will be easier problems to fix than others. Go through some PR and see how others make their contribution on that project. Don't be shy to raise a PR be confident and add a good PR description so that reviewer can understand this easily.
