Managing temporal data in a GIS database with a large volume of properties needs to store and query the data efficiently. However, there are a number of GIS software packages such as Arc GIS, SQL, and so on that provide tools to collect,manage, process,and model the data.They also can create maps, charts, and other visualizations, and also query data both spatially and temporally. the results can be summarized in a 2D layer or presented as a 3D layer in which time is displayed in the z dimension. 1. The data format should be proper, that is decimal or integer based on the requirement. 2. In addition to the time series data column, add three more column for date, Month, and Year separately. This will be help in mapping or IDW analysis. 3. For the value, provide minimum of four decimals. 4. Name the column head properly along with the unit i.e., discharge (m3/s), velocity (m/s) etc., 5. Provide the Lat and Long values in separate column, if multiple station data are available. 6. Provide a remark column for adding any remarks related to irregularities in the recorded data. ARIMA stands for Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average. We can used this tools in Orange Data Mining to visualize and have better understanding regarding the time series data set or use it to predict future trends.

For example rather than building from scratch a telco network model. There is data available to use that shows where BT assets are. There are also specialised tools built that add functionality and capability to ESRI ArcGIS for example

Time series data give you an opportunity to really think about what is important in a situation. As a researcher, I would call your attention to topological state changes in objects and their relations. As you look at different slices of the time series data, if you see topological changes to an object or its relation with another, you may have something you want to flag. This concept relates to conceptual neighborhood graphs. Similarly, in a time series representation, keying in on the state changes can help you compress the data a bit if the application warrants it. Unfortunately, modern GIS has not fully incorporated these ideas for raster formats or for CNG concepts. You can get to them, but it's more difficult.
