Do as much research as possible- via the company website- (benefits, diversity initiatives, mission and values they align with, the focus and goal of the services/goods in the company, a google search around " XX company news", any press- (good or bad) will help you to gauge the brand reputation, new launches, the financial health of the company, etc. 2. Glassdoor and/or fishbowl will assist you with company culture, employee/employer value propositions, employee satisfaction, compensation averages depending on the role, how involved they are in community and social impact initiatives. 3. LinkedIn for all the above, including connecting directly w/ employees within the company.

Reviews on Glassdoor may also allow you to identify opportunities for the organization. One of the best interviews I attended in my career had the candidate identify opportunities for the organization and the image the organization had on review sites. They then proceeded to suggest ways to manage and improve the brand of the organization. It showed that the candidate was doing their research but also demonstrated their strategic thinking.

It is always prudent to visit the company website for insights and interesting information or current projects they are involved in. If you have people in your professional or social network that have or currently working with the firm for their insights on the culture, working environment etc. It is also not a bad idea to review the Glassdoor reviews to get a firsthand review from current employees. If the company hasn't posted the job description - get in touch and ask them if you can have a copy. If they are looking for experience in certain areas or skill sets, this can help you to stand out when writing your cover letter and/or in preparation for an interview.

If it's changing every year since years, it will not be a very positive signal - Check who you know from the company and who left (also 2nd and 3rd level connections) - you can speak with people who left (off course be cautious as the person can be over negative in some time. Always ask for positive and negative feedbacks to have a balanced advise - ask open and direct questions during the interview, being curious is a motivation signal!

Other things to also consider is finding blogs on the company's website and hear advice or stories from people who are working there and learn more about the respective are that you are interested working in.

Looking at competitors in the market place and reading industry or trade journals are really helpful. Most have linkedin accounts which are a great resource . If it is an FMCG business, visit a store and see the product on the shelf

We have other things to consider like:- 1- Listen carefully to the interviewer's questions and make sure you understand them before answering. 2- Authenticity can make you stand out from other candidates and help the interviewer get a sense of your fit with the company culture. 3- Show enthusiasm and passion for the position and the company. 4- Follow professional etiquette during the interview, such as greeting the interviewer with a firm handshake, maintaining appropriate eye contact, and avoiding interrupting or talking over the interviewer. 5- Practice Good Posture. 6- Showcase Your Accomplishments. 7- Be Prepared for Behavioral Questions, Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers.

Revise all the mentioned sites, also go onto sites such as glassdoor or others where there have been previous employees. Look as sales reports, look at Linked In Pages. Depending on positions you may look at sales reports, sponsors or partners also see if you can deduce that they are clear in their messaging as a brand and if their brand values line up with your values. Is this a company that you want to work for? Many times we forget to ask ourselves that very important question.
