Hotels should monitor their inbound customer service emails, review site ratings, forums, community groups, and social media and monitor brand mentions. Set up a Google alert for your company name to track mentions across the web, and create Advanced Searches on X (Twitter) for mentions. Use a Word Cloud to identify the keywords people use when describing your brand. Pre-stay, run polls and surveys across your social media channels to identify preferences before guests arrive and don't forget to send a post-stay survey.

Industry fads come and go.. pillow concierge, bigger televisions, artisan this, artisan that, the one constant must be exceptional customer focused and where possible individualised service. No one will return to a hotel because the soap was Hermes, but if you remembered a special occasion or a guest name or went that extra mile it goes way further and creates memories not instagram moments which in turn creates return guests and customer loyalty
