I do not agree with this overarching concept of working with International partners. In my vast experience of working in the development space, I have found local, regional, on the ground Not-for-profits doing far more impactful work than international agencies. Of course, one needs to do the due diligence before selecting the right partner. It is critical that the partner has a well structured governance framework, with audited statements, and a clear vision of their existence. The best partner is one that aligns with the organisation in terms of value, objectives, mission, compliance, and trust.
