In my experience the best ways to ensure Sprint Reviews are 1. Feedback Integration: Emphasize the importance of integrating feedback gathered during Sprint Reviews into subsequent sprints for continuous improvement. 2. Clear Action Items: Stress the need for clear action items post-review, it makes sure that identified improvements are assigned, tracked, and implemented. 3. Data-Driven Insights: Encourage the use of data and metrics to provide objective insights during reviews, fostering a more evidence-based and impactful decision-making process. 4. Celebrating Success: Highlight the positive impact of acknowledging and celebrating team achievements during Sprint Reviews to boost morale and motivation.

The Scrum Master prepares the Team during the sprint to have a focus on delivering all committed stories with good quality. SM or a Team member to brief the features in the sequence, those meets the sprint goal. Good to include a quick view of risk, achievements and defects if any. Assuring all in Team is available in the review and attentive for the suggestions.

As Scrum Master, at the end of every Sprint I check one by one the PBI/BUs worked during the sprint in order to close them before to start the new one. I aslo work last days looking for new developments, doing the refinement with Developers helps. Check with the QA Testers the new designes and get them ready for Planning. I prepare the new Sprint Backlog with the PBIs candidates for Development and organize them by priority. so Devs create the Tasks and can estimate the time they will spend on them, and we can review the Estimated Story points assigned checking with the story of last PBI/BUGs we were working. Do not forget to relate every PBI/BUG with the Feature as Parent, to relate the changes.

Keep the focus on articulating the value and impact of your work, fostering a collaborative and constructive review environment.

It is preferred some members have the complete understanding of the feature developed. Such awareness will help the Team to not to miss any important items to demonstrate. Encourage everyone in the team to demonstrate their tasks and stories. Trigger and allow for healthy feedbacks and open communication within the team. Make note of the discussions points in the management tool.

For me, one of the finest opportunities that arise from Sprint Reviews are appreciating and acknowledging excellent work. Yes, it's a Developers job - but they create digital works of art in that code - which acts like magic for the uninitiated. Let's not lose that perspective when looking at it. Also, Devs can often feel unseen or unappreciated in the machine that is Software Delivery, this is a chance to praise the engineers on the ground. And a final note - it is crucial for all involved that two fundamentals are remembered (thank you, Don Miguel Ruiz): 1. Don't make assumptions and 2. Take nothing personally.

Collect the review feedback and evaluate them with the Product backlog. Document all the feedback in the management tool. Assess the Benefits and the Risks of the new discussion points. Encourage the team to brief the observations. Let team visualize the changes.

In my experience, most important part of the sprint reviews is to have the follow ups flow back into the subsequent sprints and tracked for progress. Unless those are not completed those stay on the sprint review board till completion. That way the owner and the team remain accountable for the follow ups and the learnings from the review.

Most everyone communicates the results of the Sprint Reviews. However, the slow death of the team's motivation with attending, participating and voicing findings during Sprint Reviews come from the lack of follow-up and incorporation of those lessons learned into the next Sprint or phase of the project. The team starts to think (and rightfully so!) in the vicious cycle of, "why participate -it doesn't make a difference - so no one participates and it doesn't make a difference..." All because the leaders (project managers --> up) forgot how critical it was to do what we say we will do and not stand on ceremony alone -"ACCOUNTABILITY 101". Incorporate the lessons learned and watch your team interaction rocket during Sprint Reviews!

Assure the feedback received and accepted are prioritized and communicated in team. Encourage to meet the feedback as in the plan. Encourage more discussions and new discussions on the feedback.

Involve everyone in the team to participate in the review and share their feedback. Empower everyone to show and tell all their opinions in the review meeting and the follow up connects.

Couple of additional considerations: 1. Look for repetitive/similar items from previous sprint reviews to identify patterns. 2. % Adherence to sprint plan and use that as input into future sprint planning exercises for effective planning.

Mostly that all the stakeholders including the team members have the feeling the sprint review is bringing real added value. In my experience, there are a lot of sprint review which are kind of checklist, not following the agile principle of all the sprints have to bring added value and the voice of the stakeholders has to be considered. Usually it is just a demo, therefore it is not bringing actual added value.

You can naturally make sprint reviews effective if you tie your sprints, release cycle and daily stand-ups together. Release at the end of each sprint. Then the day after replace the daily stand-up with a “next” sprint planning meeting and retrospective on the “last” sprint. Make the meeting long enough for demos.
