Use of colors or lack thereof. If you want to emphasize a statistical data, say the 3rd bar on a bar chart, you can add color to it (red, green, blue, etc.) and every other bar as gray, so that it immediately pops or stand out from the rest. So, follow all the advices here, and then use colors, font style and emphasis (ex. Bold) to direct the readers eyes, at least what you want them to focus on and what to ignore.
