From my point of view I feel One's aim should be to do quality research for the benefit of the society and then publish it so that it can be fruitful for everyone and common people can benefit from that. As researchers we should always aim for the betterment of the society.

The publication should address some unique situation or untapped field. It is beneft should help the society. Secondly, important to be researcher and speak about learnings. This will help build unique though learship too.
