I personally feel that being an effective creative and being an effective leader share one major trait (among others): Empathy. Being a good creator means empathizing with and relating to your audience as human beings, and generally being more sensitive. Being a good leader requires much the same - the best leaders I've worked with were all people whom I could relate to as a person. They understood that I'm a person, not a robot - we all have good days and bad days.

In my experience, anything can be a learning opportunity, you just have to have the confidence to make it one. Never be wary of asking questions or requesting feedback on something. It doesn't show your lack of skills or knowledge, it shows that you care! Just go for it and take those answers as fuel to continue to improve.
