Engagement is very vital, before tracking engagement, organizations needs to have a clear vision on why they need it? And they have to be honest enough about it. Organizations needs to create that environment where employees are valued for their inputs and organizations are open to listen,... Achieving that,!!! then you can develop employees in an Individual basis through coaching and mentoring to empower them to engage, then you can track to encourage and develop, using different tools like openmic sessions, team workshops, thought provoking tutorials, focused group discussions, coaching, coaching, coaching.... Organizations!! you need to have a retain strategy for your talents, they are assets not tools.

In my opinion there is no best and unique way to track employee engagement but a combination of tools, techniques and most important the role of the leader in maintaining a good environment. This can be done through a continuous feedback, regular performance reviews, mentoring and recognition whenever a good job is done or a well succeeded work is achieved.
