Keep in mind intuitiveness of user interaction with the program. You do not want to be locked into deep extensive training for all employees to be able to interface with the program you choose. If it is not easy to flow within, folks find workarounds and don't use it. If you have high turnover the training never ends. A balance between customization to the specific needs of your operation and the ease of use for the folks on the floor will benefit the most. The biggest bells and whistles are not always the best choices since many of the options you simply don't need but the added complexity drives users away.

I agree, with KPI’s in mind I urge you to consider both; a.) what you’re required/offer to report to executives b.) what metrics you want to measure to assess the team’s performance

Today's Industry must chose CMMS system as Digitization is the current norm and IoT & Data analytics & decision making for equipments requires more Lean, Transparent & Real time analysis. it brings everything under one umbrella: Be it BD, PM, Equipment History life, Asset record, Spares BOM linkup with individual tools and so on.... If we want Lean, Transparent & Effective Maintenance then Maintenance software must whether its on ERP, SAP or Oracle or any customised one bases on organization requirement & software utilisation.....

I don’t recommend evaluating the ROI unless it’s important for the organization. Significant amounts of time may need to be invested depending on the complexity of the operation, and if there’s not a demand then it may not be of value.

A point to consider that is often forgotten, is the migration of the actual system to the new one. The system must permit to add equipment and build différent strategies for maintenance teams easily all while being simple to use. Sometimes a smaller more dynamic system might be a key solution for smaller plants. Agility is a must.

I agree with the customization and integration components, but first it’s important to know if your systems are compatible. Some systems are proprietary and not possible to integrate.

A very important feature related to this is mobile capability; as looking up asset or work order information, and doing data entry, in the field is a huge benefit.
