Many reverbs contain their own EQ, but I find it helpful to setup a separate EQ before or after the Reverb, and sometimes both before and after. It's especially helpful to cut low end on the way into the reverb for clarity, and/or fine tune the resulting signal on the way out. I like to think of the reverb space in 3 planes: close, middle, and back. Sometimes I can make that work by simply adjusting the send on each track to position the track's sound. Sometimes, I set up three different reverbs to increase the character of separate planes. In rare cases, I place a separate reverb on a specific track or group.
