Public cloud is about scalability, and performance on-demand with utility billing. It requires a different skill set AND a different mindset. It's NOT just someone else's computer. Invest time in understanding how to be successful and you will be rewarded. Public cloud can be the most flexible, secure, and cost efficient technology in your arsenal. However, unless you respect the fact that it can be the opposite of each one of those things, it can be fraught with many pitfalls.

Define your organization's goals and criteria for utilizing different cloud environments. Understand the precise reasons for implementing a multi-cloud strategy, such as avoiding vendor lock-in, enhancing redundancy,, or using certain services provided by different providers.
