Continue to sell the change during and after implementation, especially if it is major change to ways of working. Otherwise, employees will continue to revert to old ways of working. This is especially true when dealing with management teams that have not fully adopted the changes. Champions of the change will help to promote the new ways of working and help to train and bring others onboard. If there is no one who can demonstrate that the change initiative is worth the effort, it will never truly be successful.

4 Manage resistance and risks

Change can generate resistance and risks, both internally and externally. You need to anticipate and manage them proactively and constructively. You can do this by identifying the sources and reasons of resistance and risks, and addressing them with empathy, respect, and evidence.
