Having a writing mentor isn't a simple experience of learning about writing. It's also about craft and allowing yourself to be developed into a successful individual who wants to share their views using the written word. This does require you to be available and you need to make a commitment to listen. I've had a writing coach and this individual has made me a better writer AND person. Listen to their feedback and avoid kneejerk responding. Consider their view and find the nugget of information they are looking for you to hear in feedback.
