In my point of view, few of the major strategies to for attracting and retaining top talent in portfolio companies can be: 1. Offer competitive salaries and benefits. 2. Provide opportunities for career growth and development. 3. Foster a positive company culture and supportive work environment. 4. Recognize and reward employees for their contributions. 5. Develop an open door policy for the employees (from top level to below)

These are the strategies that worked for us: 1. Creating a Strong Employer Brand: It's all about creating a vibe that makes people say, "Wow, I wanna work there!" It means showing off what's cool about the company culture, the mission, and the impact it's making on the world. E.g. A tech startup focused on environmental sustainability could highlight its commitment to green initiatives, not only in its products but also in its office operations (like using renewable energy and implementing a zero-waste policy). They can share stories on social media of team volunteer days at local environmental clean-ups, employee testimonials about the company's culture, and the tangible impact of their work on the environment.

Tech geeks love to be in forums to learn new stuff, keep them engaged 4. Ideate amongst top resources and promote innovation through visibility 5. Give breaks to rejuvenate and come back The more you keep them engaged with innovation, parity and tech stuff, they will happily continue being aligned with organization.
