Peers and peer networks are likely the best source of stay up to date with trends. At the same time, don't discount your own experience. It is always good to get new ideas that create efficiencies or improve productivity. But don't go with trends just because they are the trend. Using your experience to tell you when to incorporate new ideas is as valuable (maybe more so) than just keeping up with the trends.
